Meeting Gaudí - Part One

We had reserved the entire day just to explore the city and to make visits to some of the works of Antonio Gaudí.
We started with  Palau Güell (Güell Palace) which is one of the first works of Gaudí and one of the most impressive buidings of the art nouveau.
Güell Palace it was home of the Güell i Lopez family. Was built between 1886 and 1888. It is situated in the Carrer Nou de la Rambla in the El Raval neighbourhood.
The palace is notable for its ingenious concept of light and space. Here Gaudí used traditional materials like wood, stone, pottery, wrought iron, glass etc, to create exceptional expressive forms.
